Why wine?
Because I was 18, and he would pay us in wine....
Did I mention I was 18?
Why Dry Creek Valley?
DCV is the most versatile appellation in Sonoma County, and Sonoma County is
our home turf.
The Vision
A zero-footprint winery. All gravity movements, all
solar, all estate farmed biodynamically. Drive to the winery
with your clean recycled glass. We fill it for you. You take
it home and drink it. You'd also be able to buy your veggies
from our estate garden and meat from the estate-raised livestock
(chickens, pigs, lamb, etc.). We'll have winemakers, butchers,
farmers, musicians, friends and family, all in the same facility.
FODDER
Instruments I own: Drum set, guitars, piano, ukulele and banjo
First live concert: Besides Willie Nelson
with my Dad, Billy Idol was the first concert with no adult
supervision. Willie was so much better.
First album purchased (with my own money): Kiss
Destroyer
Album that shaped me as a human being: It's
a tie--The Beatles White Album and Talking Heads 77
Where will you find me on a Sunday afternoon?
Depends on the season. Winter: Rain hiking with the
kids and dog. Spring: Mowing and pulling weeds. Summer:
BBQ with Gail, Taylor, Zach, Emily and Jay. Fall: At the
winery.... Where else would I be?!
Remember the time when…
We went to the Russian River Brewery the day before
harvest? That was wise...
Most badass pairing for VERGE Syrah (from my own kitchen): Whatever
your Grandma has made for you. VERGE Syrah pairs well with
food made with Love.
Everyday wine of record: Preston Jug Wine |

How the hell you'd get out here?
Drinking my way west.
Really?
Well, that and Sonoma County has got to be one of the most beautiful, diverse

Why wine?
It's like learning a language. It takes a lifetime.
It's about the journey and being open to possibility.
The Vision
Pretty much what Mike says.
